Google Releases New Toolbar

Friday July 4, 2003
The new Google toolbar is loaded with features, including an option to automatically block pop-ups. But wait. Pop-ups are good, right? We may hate them but a recent study shows pop-ups are actually pretty effective. Pop-up blocker software may sour some of those numbers in the future.

As for Google's toolbar, it also contains a way for consumers to store credit card numbers on their hard drive instead of online for security purposes. The search engine is hoping to expand its branding by offering the updated toolbar that allows visitors to search the Internet without having to visit the site.
