Spike Settles Suit

Tuesday July 8, 2003
Spike Lee settled his suit with Viacom, putting an end to the "SpikeTV" controversy. Lee, whose real name is Shelton Jackson Lee, said the company was trying to cash in on his name. He filed the suit and won a temporary injunction, preventing Viacom from turning "The New TNN" into "SpikeTV." However, the settlement will still allow Viacom to call the network for men "SpikeTV."
