Group Says Honda Ads Promote Suicide
Tuesday September 23, 2003
A commercial for the new Honda Accord has been pulled in Australia after a mental health advocacy group said the commercial trivialized suicide. The commercial featured an old Accord owner admiring the new Accord. The old Accord locks its doors and drives off a cliff. While there are no people involved in the car's "suicide," the advocacy group says the ads are aimed at young people who are often the victims of suicide.
