AOL and EarthLink Take Spam Attack One Step Further

Internet service providers AOL and EarthLink are leading the way in the legal fight against spammers. AOL has filed a lawsuit against Connor Miller Software in Florida. The suit was originally filed in Virginia but was dismissed for jurisdiction reasons since the defendant is based in Florida.

EarthLink says it's found the operators behind the multiple state ring of spammers that sent more than 250 million unsolicited Emails. Defendants named in EarthLink's suit include companies and individuals in California, Florida, Michigan, Nevada and Tennessee.
