Tip of the Week: Changing Careers

Friday June 18, 2004
Many people seek a career in advertising or public relations after spending many years, or even most of their life, working in another field. If you've been a flight attendant for the past 15 years, that won't get you a job in advertising or PR. But your knowledge of the airline industry could get you a position at an agency that handles airlines and even companies that deal with the travel industry.

Examine your own experience and find your niche. You'll be able to tailor your resume to the companies looking for someone with in-depth knowledge in that particular field. Be creative and analyze the job opportunity vs. your own experience. Use the 10 Ways to Get a Job at an Ad Agency and you'll be well on your way to a new career.
