Subway Changes Track to Fight Childhood Obesity

Wednesday July 21, 2004
Subway Restaurants is shifting 1/5 of its ad budget to raise awareness of childhood obesity. The new Subway F.R.E.S.H. Steps campaign is designed to help introduce healthier lifestyles to children.

Jared Fogle, the former 245-pound man who lost weight eating at Subway, will join three non-actor children in 11 commercials. The children, Madison Newberry, Isaac Villarreal and Cody Lawler, all changed their lives by eating nutritious foods and will talk about their new healthy lifestyle as part of the campaign.
