McCain Wants Bush to Condemn Anti-Kerry Ad

Thursday August 5, 2004
Republican Senator and former prisoner of war John McCain is condemning a new anti-Kerry ad sponsored by the Swift Boat Veterans. The :60 spot centers on Vietnam veterans who claim Kerry has lied about his decorated military career and has betrayed other veterans of the Vietnam War.

McCain is calling for the Bush-Cheney campaign to condemn the ad. He says he doesn't believe the White House is behind the ad, saying, "I can't believe the president would pull such a cheap stunt."
