Bush Camp Files Lawsuit Against FEC

Thursday September 2, 2004
President Bush's campaign has filed suit against the Federal Election Commission. The lawsuit claims the FEC has failed to act against anti-Bush groups spending millions of dollars on advertising to attempt to influence the 2004 presidential election.

About a week ago, Bush asked Republican Senator John McCain to join the fight against negative political ads from soft money groups. McCain had previously asked Bush to condemn an anti-John Kerry ad from the Swift Boat Veterans group.
