Last Minute Political Ad Spending Tops $60 Million

In the past week, President Bush, Senator Kerry and the Republican and Democratic parties have spent anywhere between $60 million and $80 million on political ads. By the time the last ad airs on Election Day, an estimated $1.9 billion will have been spent on political advertising for Election 2004. In the final hours before the election, battleground states seeing a big increase in political ad spending include Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin and New Mexico.
