FCC Investigates Desperate Housewives Promo on Monday Night Football
Tuesday November 23, 2004
More than 50,000 complaints were filed with the FCC after Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan dropped her towel in an ABC Monday Night Football skit to persuade Terrell Owens of the Philadelphia Eagles to skip the big game. The scene then cut to Sheridan's co-stars, Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman, watching this happen on TV and talking about desperate women.
The FCC is now conducting an investigation to determine if fines should be handed out. ABC, the NFL and even the Philadelphia Eagles have apologized over the skit. As for ABC's Desperate Housewives, the promo definitely put the controversial show on the map.
