Viacom to Pay $3.5 Million Fine

Wednesday November 24, 2004
Viacom will pay $3.5 million to settle indecent programming complaints filed against the company. The settlement is the highest reached with federal regulators in history.

That number does not include the Janet Jackson Super Bowl incident, which resulted in an additional $550,000 fine. The $3.5 million does cover CSI, Big Brother, Howard Stern, Opie and Anthony and the 2002 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show acts deemed indecent. The complete list with detailed descriptions can be found on USAToday.com.
