Stern Pulled from Air and Slapped with Ad Bill
Thursday January 6, 2005
Citadel Broadcasting has pulled Howard Stern off the air at four of the company's stations for saying those two dreaded words on free airwaves: satellite radio. Stern also says he's been sent a $200,000 advertising bill for all the plugs he's given Sirius Satellite Radio on the air.
"Keep sending me bills. Like I'm going to pay 'em," Stern said on his show.
Stern pulled off a major holiday promotion for Sirius Satellite Radio, giving away an estimated $2 million worth of gifts. He'll be moving away from Clear Channel and on to Sirius Satellite Radio in a multimillion dollar deal.
