PETA Unveils Star Jones Parody Ad
Friday April 1, 2005
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is unveiling an April Fool's Day ad the organization says is no joke. The ad features cross-dresser Flotilla DeBarge as The View's
Star Jones in a white wedding dress with a fur spray painted with the words "Fur Is a Drag." (See the ad)
Jones sued PETA over the ad saying the public wouldn't be able to tell the difference between her and DeBarge. PETA planned to reveal the ad outside of the ABC studios on April Fool's Day. Jones said, "As long as no laws are broken, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
