GM Pulls Advertising from L.A. Times
Tuesday April 12, 2005
General Motors has yanked its ad dollars from the Los Angeles Times. GM execs say the decision was made after dealers raised concerns over "factual errors and misrepresentations in the Times' editorial coverage."
GM wouldn't say exactly what piece(s) caused the decision but auto critic Dan Neil had published an editorial the day before on why GM should get rid of its Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner. GM execs are also keeping quiet on how much ad money they spent with the L.A. Times and if they will ever return their advertising money to the paper in the future.
