Voice of Tony the Tiger Dies

Tuesday May 24, 2005
Thurl Ravenscroft, the voice of Tony the Tiger, has died of prostate cancer at the age of 91. Ravenscroft said, "They're Grrrrreeeat!" for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes for more than 50 years.

He voiced Tony the Tiger for the first Frosted Flakes commercial in 1952. He went on to voice characters for rides at Disneyland and many Disney animated movies.
