Wal-Mart PR Manager Leaves After Nazi Ad

Tuesday June 14, 2005
Wal-Mart PR manager Peter Kanelos has left his position one month after the company apologized for a Nazi ad in an Arizona newspaper. Kanelos issued an Email to Reuters saying he was leaving on "mutually agreeable terms" but would not say if his resignation was over the controversial ad.

Protect Flagstaff's Future issued the ad but Wal-Mart financed and approved it. The ad was criticized by many organizations and Wal-Mart released an apology ad in the same newspaper as well as an apology letter to the Anti-Defamation League.
