Lee Iacocca and Snoop Dogg Team Up for Chrysler
Wednesday August 10, 2005
If the pairing of Lee Iacocca with former Seinfeld star Jason Alexander seemed off for you, perhaps you'll like Iacocca's new co-star. The former Chrysler boss can now be seen in commercials with Snoop Dogg.
Chrysler reps say the pairing shouldn't be viewed as far-fetched. After all, Snoop Dogg is a big Chrysler fan and called up current president and CEO Dieter Zetsche last year asking for a Chrysler 300C.
Chrysler is spending $75 million on its employee discount program ad campaign. Three other Iacocca commercials have also aired, two with Jason Alexander and one with a child actor portraying Iacocca's granddaughter.
Chrysler has extended its employee pricing plan indefinitely. Ford announced plans to extend its family plan until September 6, 2005. General Motors first announced it was discontinuing its employee discount August 1, 2005, but then switched gears when competitors continued their special pricing promotions.
