Super Bowl XL: Honda Ridgeline

Sunday February 5, 2006
9:34:38 - The famous woman silhouette sticker leaves the mudflaps behind to check out the Honda Ridgeline. The announcer drops the hint about those who've been around trucks all their life and the truck door opens to reveal Yosemite Sam. Funny commercial, rugged for the men and a soft spot for women with Yosemite Sam -- even with the sexy woman silhouette sticker getting the most air time.

We just bought a Honda Ridgeline truck. Good thing we bought it before I saw this dumb ad. Why use that female silhouette? Do you not want women to buy these trucks? What about families who use them as primary vehicles? I would fire the agency that came up with this advertisement. If Honda will contact me, I will SHOW THEM a REAL female driving the product.

Duh, the chrome mudflap girl is on “truck” mud flaps, along with the Yosimite Sam “BACK OFF” mud flaps. It is just showing 2 icons that are closely associated with trucks that are really liking the Ridgeline….
