Chrysler Comments on Caliber Controversy

Several gay rights groups have come forward citing concerns over Chrysler's 2007 Dodge Caliber commercial featuring a fairy that turns a tough guy into a preppy-looking man. The controversy has spread across ad industry blogs over the net and Chrysler admits the company has received complaints about this particular commercial. Suraya Bliss, a spokeswoman for Chrysler told the Detroit Free Press, "We're kind of surprised that people are making a conclusion about someone's sexual orientation based on the clothes they're wearing." Chrysler stands behind its commercials and has no plans to pull the ads.
