Ford Launches New Tagline With American Idol Spokesperson

Tuesday April 25, 2006
Ford Motor Company is signing first season "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson to pitch a new tagline. The new tagline "Bold Moves" and Clarkson as pitchwoman are both getting the approval of dealers and industry pros who say her clean image will be good for the automaker's image. They also say the tagline is a huge improvement over "Built for the Road Ahead" and the one prior, "If You Haven't Looked at a Ford Lately, Look Again." Ford is no stranger to Clarkson's success. The company is a major sponsor for "American Idol."

More on Clarkson's Role with Ford:

A new ad campaign starring Clarkson is currently being planned. Country singer Toby Keith will continue to be the spokesperson for Ford trucks.
