GM Ends Survivor Sponsorship

Thursday September 7, 2006
After six years, General Motors is pulling its sponsorship of the CBS reality show, Survivor. CBS and GM deny claims the sponsorship ended over the controversial racial splitting of teams for this season's Survivor twist. GM execs say they're looking for more prominent promotion for its vehicles where the cars are more a part of the program than just a prize. With a show like Survivor, execs say there's no room for participants to be seen driving the cars like other product placement opportunities would allow them.
