Geico Caveman Vs. the Media in a New Commercial

Tuesday October 24, 2006
About a month ago, Geico brought back the caveman to its commercials. Now a new one is hitting the airwaves. The caveman appears in a news segment defending his claims that the use of the "So easy a caveman can do it" line is offensive. The caveman gets a few jabs in before being told he sounds like he "woke up on the wrong side of the rock."

More on Geico's Caveman Commercials:

While Geico and its ad agency, The Martin Agency, haven't said if more caveman commercials will be released, the caveman has developed a certain following that generates a lot of buzz. The caveman commercials are stringing together a lot of exposure for Geico not just on the airwaves but also at the water cooler and on the Internet.

The car insurance company's commercials have run the gamut. From the cute little Geico gecko himself to the oddball commercials using old celebrities like Charo, Burt Bacharach and Little Richard.

Before September 2006, the caveman hadn't appeared in Geico ads in two years. The series of commercials seemed to end in 2004 with "Apology" where a Geico rep takes a couple of cavemen out to dinner for a formal apology.
