CBS Asks a Record $2.6 Million for 30 Second Super Bowl Ad

Tuesday January 16, 2007
CBS will air Super Bowl XLI for the first time since the Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" and the network is hoping for bigger bucks than ever before. CBS is reportedly asking $2.6 million for each :30 commercial to air during the game. Some advertisers have reportedly paid more than the $2.6 price tag. The first half is sold out but CBS still has limited spots available for the game scheduled to air February 4, 2007.

More on Super Bowl XLI Commercials:

Advertisers confirmed to be playing in the game include AIG, Anheuser-Busch, CareerBuilder, Chevrolet, Diamond's Emerald Nuts, Doritos, FedEx, GoDaddy, Honda, Nationwide Insurance, the NFL, Snickers and Taco Bell. Many marketers are keeping quiet about committing to the Super Bowl and AdAge.com suggests the high price tag is the reason.
