Podcast Advertising Gets Its Own Organization

Tuesday July 17, 2007
Podcasting gets some recognition as a legitimate way to advertise your brand. The Association of Downloadable Media (ADM) is a new organization, formed to provide advertising standards and audience measurement for podcasts. Before you write it off as a fly-by-night group started by some guy in his basement wanting to sell memberships, take a look at some of the organization's backers: Apple Computer, BlogTalkRadio, Crayon, LibSync/IndieFeed, Nielsen/NetRatings Inc., PodTech, Podbridge, Podtrac, Porter Novelli and more.

More on the ADM:

Advertisers leery of the podcasting world can expect to see a bigger awareness push to educate them on the medium's advertising opportunities and staying power. Memberships for individual podcasters run $150 a year and corporate memberships cost $1,000 a year.
