Super Bowl XLII Ad Inventory Almost Sold Out

From Apryl Duncan, About.com GuideOctober 31, 2007

Super Bowl XLII ad inventory is 90-percent sold out. With about three months left to go before the February 3, 2008, big game, the number of advertisers committing so early is a deviation from years past.

FOX, the network that has the Super Bowl this year, says about 52 of the 58 in-game ad units are sold. Last year, CBS only had 42 ad units sold in mid-January. A 30-second spot is going for a reported $2.7 million. FOX is also offering an incentive to get on board. The network has teamed with MySpace to have all commercials appearing in Super Bowl XLII to also appear on MySpace.com.

I wonder if that means the ads will be better, with more time to prepare. Last years were disappointing. I watch the game each year for the ads!
