Welch's Serves Up Lickable Ads

Want a taste test of Welch's grape juice? Pick up this month's issue of People magazine. Welch's bought full page lickable print ads to give consumers the chance to try the grape juice before they buy. The front of the ad looks like your typical print ad showing the product. The back has a removable strip that peels off much like breath strips.

Can't quite picture how this works? The Erie Times offers a very detailed photo of a taste test in progress.

This new lick-able ad was tried live on the air, and didn’t work out quite as expected:

Excellent link Ryan. A great demonstration of how an ad’s concept doesn’t always translate well when the ad is complete!
