Paris Hilton Responds to McCain's Anti-Obama Ad

Wednesday August 6, 2008
Socialite Paris Hilton has released her own mock ad after John McCain used her image in an anti-Barack Obama commercial. McCain's ad uses about two seconds of Britney Spears video and one second of a still shot of Hilton, while various clips of Obama video with people chanting his name fade in and out. The voiceover says, "He's the biggest celebrity in the world. But is he ready to lead?" In Hilton's rebuttal, she's lounging by the pool in a leopard bathing suit and says "that wrinkly white-haired guy used me in his campaign ad, which I guess means I'm running for president." She goes on to lay out her energy plan before saying she might paint the White House pink if she wins.

More on the Hilton and McCain Ad Controversy:

The ad also rubbed Hilton's mother the wrong way. Kathy Hilton lashed out at McCain because the Hiltons have donated to his presidential campaign.

Hilton is no stranger to controversial advertising. She appeared in a skimpy bathing suit for Hardee's and Carl's Jr. and in yellow knickers for a German online yellow pages company.

What do you think about the ads? Talk about it.

McCain’s ad did a better job of promoting Obama. Paris is, well, just Paris. It is ironic that Hilton campaign money helped fund the ad.

HOT.
Too bad Paris can’t be prez until 2016. (Age restrictions are a bad thing.)

I never saw either ad until I saw this post. Where’s Britney’s response? McCain used video of her and she got more air time. Seriously, I think McCain should have used video of both Britney and Lindsay Lohan. Now that would have made a better link to Obama being a celebrity with some negative undertones since those two are always in trouble.

The Hiltons are greedy, and closet nazis themselves. Ignorant, and rich is sooo 2002-2208 January. Undeserving with money, is the book still being written.

Paris’ ad made me laugh. You go girl! McCain’s ad make me disgusted. When are we going to discuss the issues - because there are many and I am sick of my time being wasted on negative campaign ads - like McCain’s. Let’s get the word out that we want to hear about the issues and bad shi_ about the other guy.

I wonder why Paris and Brittany are not suing McBush for using their images without permission. I loved Paris’s comment about McBush being “a wrinkled old man.” I myself am a wrinkled “old’ woman and would not like to see someone my age as president - it is a mankiller of a job (just look at Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter and what it did to their health!) and it needs a young man with new ideas and enthusiasm. You go, Paris!!

I think Paris’ ad spoofs the election process perfectly! The sad thing is the real issues, that need addressing, do not get the attention they deserve when playground tactics are used. Let your politicians know that you want substance, intelligence and a thoughtful process. Leave the childish behaviour in the playground, the scare tactics for the movies with better effects and face up to the reality of what your Nation and our world is facing. Your decisions have a global impact.

John McCain should be ashamed of himself. Barack Obama is a dedicated public servant, as is McCain. Paris Hilton is famous because her grandfather had money and passed it down. I love her commercial, however. McCain deserves it.

I think that Paris Hilton and the rest of the press should stop obessing over Barack Obama who is not experience as well is John McCain! It is better for someone that has experience! But if they do need they need to write, put pictures’ tv etc. Need to do an equal amount of writting on each canditate!

Paris is pissed? But doesn’t she love cheap publicity?

Brilliant! One of the most creative pieces I’ve seen for a long time. McCain would do well to use Paris’s ad agency to handle his campaign
