High Fructose Corn Syrup Ads Sour Parents

The Corn Refiners Association is causing quite a conversation among parents through its new commercials promoting high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Studies have been released saying HFCS is linked to childhood obesity but the CRA claims that's not entirely true and is playing defense with the new ad campaign.

The campaign is mainly targeting mothers and many are storming their blogs with posts blasting the ad campaign. Comments range from negative remarks about the tone of the ads to facts released in previous studies about HFCS.
The CRA is planning an 18-month long ad campaign that's worth a reported $20-30 million. Besides TV commercials, full-page ads will be taken out in newspapers across the U.S. The website, SweetSurprise.com, is also part of the campaign.
