Obama Plans 30-Minute Commercial

Thursday October 9, 2008
Democrat Barack Obama continues his ad spending spree. Just Monday, he spent $3.3 million in TV advertising for that day alone and now his campaign has announced a 30-minute commercial that will air days before the election. CBS and NBC will air the 30-minute commercial and plans are in the works for the other networks to air the ad as well. CBS had to move an episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine to accommodate the large block of time and NBC has not yet announced where it will place the prime time commercial. The airtime is a multimillion-dollar deal.

In comparison, McCain's ad spending Monday came in around $900,000. The Republican National Committee spent about $700,000.

This brings back memories. Anyone remember how many people watched Ross Perot? It is a good strategy.

I am undecided but I don’t think a 30min commercial is going to sway me. It is just more propaganda in my face when I would rather be watching a sitcom or crime drama.

yeah, it’s much more important to see the latest survivor as opposed to seeing a message delivered by one of the two candidates running for the most important position in the world.

Oh come on now eli. Saturday Night Live had it right when they spoofed the ad time for the Obama Variety Hour. Seriously, anyone who’s waited this long to make up their mind can see right through all of these political commercials. It’s not like it’s a documentary!

What ever it takes to get rid of the republicans, that have the most conservative views of any affiliation in the world.

This great country would not have been what it is without its immigration. During the past 100 years the scrouptles, religious right has been taken over this country, just because of their own greed. In any other country in the world you are giving help and advise from religious people, in this country you are taken advantage off. Double standards is everydays life, no one is telling the truth, everyone is lying to cover their own agenda.
And how can you have marriage rules and abortion on a president ballot.

Wake up America, if not we will be the new third world.

This is the dumbest political exercise I’ve ever heard of…
What is there to prove? What is not needed at this point is a rallying point to unite rednecks and wing-nuts alike. You plan to hold up the start of a World Series game to force feed the public a partisan message while holding an undeniable lead??? The champagne folks involved in this decision should have their heads examined!
Shhhh, I hear echoes of Nixon… Regan… Gore…. Ahhh, and I can smell a lead evaporating. Americans HATE being force fed anything almost as much as they hate blatant displays of “we have more money than you do…”
Please, PLEASE reconsider, this could spell doom!!!

Micah, that’s the problem with America. That’s why republicans keep getting voted into office and then ruin America. That’s why people like you, people who would rather watch fiction than to face what’s really happening in this world and to Americans, keep believing the fiction of the RNC and keep voting like the idiots they are.

HOW SHALLOW CAN SOMEONE BE TO WANT TO WATCH A SHOW THAT IS NOT GOING TO BENEFIT THEM IN ANY WAY WHEN THEY COULD BE WATCHING SOMETHING THAT COULD EFFECT THE REST OF THIER LIFE AND THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN.

(12) David says:

Everybody needs to chill out. All the guy was saying is that there is enough propaganda out there to make a decision without having to have even more commercial crap in your face all the time. What do you think we watch TV for? Entertainment, plain and simple.

I support Obama but this election is bringing out the worst in people who think you must be anti-American if you are not voting for him. It’s making me sick.

Like someone else said, it’s not like it’s a documentary exploring both sides of the campaign. It’s a COMMERCIAL!

I will be glad when Tuesday is over. I am tired of all the debates, criticism and, YES, the political commercials.

Now go have a nice day and watch the TV program of YOUR CHOICE. THAT is the American way. Freedom of choice!

I want know if the ‘un-biased’ news media is going to investigate the individuals in this commercial as they did with Joe the Plumber. What a friking joke. ‘un-biased’ my a$$. If you vote this chump into office, you deserve what you will get.

I know it is too late but do you know what? If you didn’t want to watch it, you didn’t have to watch it! If you wanted more information about Obama, that was your opportunity to listen and, yes, question and disagree, or, listen and agree. It was your decision to watch or not watch.
