This Week's Hot Advertising Topics

Friday October 31, 2008
The high fructose corn syrup commercials are still leaving viewers with a sour taste. Obama's 30-minute commercial stirs up a heated debate. The wave of hidden camera commercials has consumers divided over their effectiveness. These are just some of this week's hot advertising topics:
  • "I am undecided but I don’t think a 30min commercial is going to sway me. It is just more propaganda in my face when I would rather be watching a sitcom or crime drama." -Micah on Obama Plans 30-Minute Commercial

  • "Next they’ll be telling us that Diabetes is not that hard to over conqueror! - I guess its goodbye for wholesome, upright America, and hello to the manipulative, deceitful ads that corrupt our kids!" -Shivon on High Fructose Corn Syrup Ads Sour Parents

  • "I for one think that the Pizza Hut / Pasta Hut ad is a total fake. The ad says 'Real People on hidden camera,' and when people see that, they rephrase it to 'People who are not actors and weren’t hired to give scripted answers' when in fact the ad just states that the people shown are in fact actual people, and the cameras filming the ad are hidden. Companies can’t be accused for false advertising when they are so vague." -Sneaky Pete on Hidden Camera Commercials
