2008 Cyber Monday Traffic Up

Cyber Monday brought in about 35.9 million shoppers to selected sites Nielsen Online monitored for the 2008 survey. Nielsen says these numbers show a 10-percent increase from last year's equivalent of Black Friday for online stores.

eBay was the big winner, pulling in 10.6 million visitors. Amazon brought in 9 million visitors while Wal-Mart had 5.2 million unique visitors.

Sears saw the most year-to-year growth with a 58-percent increase in traffic. Beauty saw the most growth over last year with a 151-percent increase in traffic. Toys/video games saw a 112-percent increase and apparel grew 58 percent.
