Peter Pan Tries to Rebuild Brand
Thursday February 26, 2009
It was just about this same time two years ago that Peter Pan Peanut Butter was in the news after a salmonella outbreak was linked to hundreds of illnesses. Both the Peter Pan Peanut Butter and ConAgra Foods websites also display an "Important Message Regarding Peanut Butter." The message says none of the ingredients used to make the company's peanut butter come from Peanut Corporation of America, the plant the government is investigating for poor conditions experts say lead to the salmonella-contaminated work space that made more than 600 consumers ill and killing 9.
As Peter Pan Peanut Butter tries to move forward and rebuild the brand that was cleared from store shelves, do you think the messages that state the product is safe to eat will help with that brand repositioning in the eyes of consumers? Sound off.
