Chrysler Tells The Apprentice: "You're Fired!"
Wednesday August 25, 2004
Chrysler has pulled its sponsorship of Donald Trump's The Apprentice, citing NBC's second season price tag as "too much money." NBC has offered other automakers the same $50 million deal but no
company has signed as of this writing.
As the first season sponsor, Chrysler had ads run at almost every commercial break. Bill Rancic was also awarded a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire for winning the prestigious job.
Some experts say Chrysler's decision was a good move, predicting that the second season of The Apprentice won't be as successful as the first. The second season premieres September 9, 2004.
