Monday August 15, 2005
Vodafone has hung up on English football superstar David Beckham. He endorsed the company's products for three years with a contract believed to be worth $2.3 million a year.
Beckham's contract ran out in July. Vodafone says the contract not being renewed was a mutual decision but the London Times reports Vodafone execs say they were concerned because the image the Real Madrid CF league uses of Beckham promotes Vodafone's competition Siemens Mobile.
