History of Advertising - Early TV Commercials Set
Volume I of this DVD focuses on the birth of TV commercials, starting with the very first commercial that aired July 1, 1941. It also features old ads from General Motors, Folgers Coffee and Pabst Brewing Company, to name a few. Complete the set with Volume II and get 40 more early TV commercials.
Both volumes contain more than just ads. They also contain an in-depth history into the advertising world.
The History of Vintage Funny Television Commercials
This two DVD set contains more than two hours of funny commercials. Band Aid, Volkswagen, Hertz, J.C. Penney and a whole list of other advertisers are all featured in this set.
The downside to this set is that it only contains commercials from the 40s to the 70s. Hopefully, the DVD's publisher has a set in the works for the 80s up until current time.
The History of Advertising - Automobiles
There are several of these sets for car lovers who also love advertising. The 1930-1950 set shows commercials that were some of the first to ever appear on TV. Others were featured on newsreels. The 1950-1960 set shows the last theatrical advertising shorts to hit the air.
Personalized Cartoons
Most people who work in advertising have a great sense of humor. A personalized cartoon is a gift that would look great on their desk or hanging in their office. Give them a chuckle and a conversation starter at work.
The cartoon doesn't have to be directly related to advertising. You can always find Web sites of cartoon artists who would probably be willing to create a custom cartoon, though.
Your friend or loved one picked a good field to be interested in. The gift possibilities for the advertising junkie are endless. Be sure to share your gift ideas for advertising junkies with others.
