Bob Hope Dies but the Advertising Legend Lives On
Monday July 28, 2003
Comedian, actor and pitchman Bob Hope passed away at the age of 100. He first got a taste of how fast he could move products with The Bob Hope Pepsodent Show. He went on to lend his name to
Texaco, Southwestern Bell and Chrysler, which promises to hold the annual tourney in his name "for many years to come." And it was just five years ago, when Hope starred in a Penny Marshall-directed commercial for Kmart at the age of 95.
