Pennsylvania Tourism Campaign Wants You

Thursday May 25, 2006
The Pennsylvania Tourism Office is asking visitors to its Web site to vote for the state's official bumper sticker. The marketing campaign asks you to choose between 16 possibilities.

If you don't like the choices, you can write in your own. But a spokesperson for the Tourism Office says not to get your hopes up for the write-ins because only votes for the final 16 will actually be counted. More on the Pennsylvania Bumper Sticker Contest:

The contest ends July 1 and the winner will be announced on July 4. As for prizes, well, the winner will get a free bumper sticker from PennDOT. Just like anyone else who wants one.

This isn't the first contest the state has run. In 2005, the Tourism Office held a contest to determine the state's official slogan. "Pennsylvania -- State of Independence" was declared the winner.
