How Gas Prices Can Help You Advertise

Friday July 11, 2008
Buy a couch. Get free gas. Buy a DVD player. Get free gas. Buy dinner for two. Get free gas.

If you've been parked in front of the TV or had your radio on while you're driving, you've noticed the words "free gas" are popping up in more and more commercials lately. The rise of gas prices is nothing new but companies are starting to take notice that free gas is a great incentive no matter what you're selling.

It's an affordable option for attracting customers too. If you would normally offer a discount in-store, turn that into a free gas offer in your advertising instead.

Make it a worthwhile incentive and don't nickel and dime your offer with a $5 or $10 offer. Instead, a $25 offer of free gas should be your minimum to get serious customers into your business. A $50, $100 or higher offer would be even better.

Advertise your free gas offer and see how many customers you can attract while gas prices remain a hot topic.
